Fitting your replacement hands

  1. Fit the hour hand. Take the shorter hand and press it firmly straight down onto the spindle.
  2. Fit the minute hand. This one sits higher up, on a small hexagon-shaped fitting. Line it up with the hexagon and wiggle it gently until it seats properly above the hour hand - it can take a bit of fiddling.
  3. Screw on the nut. Finger-tighten the small nut onto the spindle, turning slowly so it doesn't cross-thread. Stop as soon as it feels snug - no tools needed.
